( PLEASE READ BEFORE HANGING YOUR PRINT )
Your Canvas Print as been printed to the highest quality using the latest technology. It has been hand varnished with a special Giclee varnish to protect the image from the environment and will allow you to enjoy your print for many years to come.
Where to Hang your Canvas
Print.
These canvas prints are produced using natural products which can be affected
by extreme heat and moisture. We would suggest hanging them way from sources
of heat like above Radiators and away from high moisture areas like bathrooms
and shower rooms, especially if there is a lot of steam.
Your print has been coated with a UV varnish to protect it from sunlight
and image fading. To ensure that your print lasts for the longest period
possible we would suggest hanging it in a position away from direct sunlight.
Hanging in direct sunlight can make the image fade quicker but it would
take a very long time to see any change.
How to hang your Canvas Print.
Your canvas print can be hung using the specially designed bracket supplied
on the back of your print (at the top) by 1 single screw or by the brass
fixings supplied on the sides of your print. (We will supply the type
that we suggest using for the size print purchased) Large prints must
be fixed using all four of the fixings supplied in each of the corners
otherwise over time as the print settles in to its new home it may not
sit flush to the wall. (Your Canvas Print will move slightly and breathes
with your home depending on the temperature and moisture content of the
air)
What are the bits of wood (wedges)
for?
In each of the corners of the print there are 2 shaped pieces of wood
(wedges) that are pressed into the slots.(8 in total) These are used to
keep your canvas taught. You may find that some of them have fallen out
in transit, this is normal. Just press them back into the slots as hard
as you can or use a small hammer (carefully) to tap them in.(They will
only go in a little way, this is normal) As your print settles into its
new home and dries out you may find the canvas loosens off. You can use
these wedges to tighten the canvas print back up by tapping them in further
into the slots.
After Care of your Canvas Print.
Your Canvas print is a work of art and needs to be handled with love.
You can clean the print by using a soft dry cloth or feather duster only.
Do not use water, liquids or cleaning substances of any kind on the print
surface as this may damage the varnish. Only lightly wipe the surface.
Do not press hard or rub the print surface as this will damage the varnish
and create a dull spot or even remove the image in extreme cases.
Extreme Care! ( We
do not guarantee these extreme measures and they are undertaken at your
own risk)
NOTE: If your print gets very dirty you can use a
damp cloth to lightly clean it but with extreme care, do not rub. If the
cloth is too wet it will leave raised patches on the print surface (i.e.
the print surface wont look flat). Some of these may dry out but some
may remain there for the life of the canvas.
NOTE2: If your print surface gets dented then leave the
print and you may be lucky and it may disappear with time, if not you
can rectify this but again with extreme caution. Take the print off the
wall and on the back of the canvas where the dent is brush the canvas
with a damp paint brush. Again do not allow the print to get wet, just
damp. Leave it for an hour and the dent should disappear, if not try again.
(Note: if the print gets too wet it will leave a raised patch on the print
surface as above)
